This spooky season, Greenlight celebrates the work of indie horror press Creature Publishing and their authors Grace Daly, Lindsey Merbaum, and Brooklyn local Meg Ripley! Based in Virginia with roots in New York, Creature Publishing specializes in feminist horror, dark speculative fiction, women-driven thrillers, and spooky fantastical fiction.

Tonight, authors Daly and Merbaum launch their new novels alongside Ripley, showcasing the great range that speaks to Creature's interest in the many facets of horror—from the gallows humor of Daly's The Scald-Crow, a self-deprecating horror novel exploring medical trauma through Irish folklore; the smutty, absurdist horror-comedy of Merbaum's Vampires at Sea, following two immortal beloveds who, against a backdrop of ongoing war, set off on a queer Black Sea Cruise; to Ripley's witchy and political Necrology, set against a fantastical aftermath of the Salem witch trials, where a headmistress awaits trial and execution and her young pupil must learn the terrifying reality of her world. Join us as we celebrate the rich world of indie horror with fun, book-related activities, discussion, an audience Q&A, and signing—just in time for Halloween!
