The story takes place in the world of illegal gambling and organized crime, as owner "Sugar" Ray and his associates fight to maintain their business against gangsters and corrupt police.
The setting of "The Great Gatsby" is primarily the fictional towns of West Egg and East Egg on Long Island, New York, during the summer of 1922, with scenes also taking place in New York City.
