Details

In 2025, David Dominé's Victorian Ghost Walk® returns for its 17th year! Join us in "America's Most Haunted Neighborhood" as we celebrate another year! 13 tours each night! October 17, 18, 19 The third weekend in October the streets and front lawns of Old Louisville will once again come alive with a cast of real-life characters and legendary spirits who return from the grave to tell their tales of phantom woe. Witches and hoodoo priestesses, victims of poisoning, denizens of the Gilded Age who died in penury, those who found out the hard way that it's never good to dabble in the black arts—the Victorian Ghost Walk® has it all! Not to mention, it's all set against the back drop of stunning Victorian mansions and beautiful gas-lit alleys and walkways! In 2025, repeat participants at this beloved Halloween "porch-and-parlor play" will see many familiar faces, though the actors may be different from previous years: Jennie Bowman, the unfortunate young maid brutally attacked by burglars in her employers' mansion; Simon Kracht, the infamous resurrectionist who "procured" just-buried corpses for the city medical college; Lucinda, the grief-stricken lunatic who proclaimed herself "Queen of America" in 1885; Millionaire Alfred Victor DuPont, who died at the hands of his scorned mistress—or at least that's what they said, because Maggie Payne makes an appearance to set the record straight! In addition, this year's event wills see the return of sad spirits who resurrect the spooky poetry of famed St. James Court poet Madison Julian Cawein. With a penchant for the morbid and morose, the broody and foreboding, he penned poems about spooks and the supernatural that will provide a bit of literary flair to your haunted jaunt through Old Louisville this fall! 2025 is our 17th year, and there will be 13 separate performances each night on October 17, 18, and 19. The South Fourth Street Association presents the event under the directorship of Keith McGill. Important notes: We welcome photos during the event, however, videos of more than 15 seconds are not allowed due to U.S. Copyright restraints. Tickets are non-refundable, so please be prepared in the case of less-than-ideal weather because this is a rain-or-shine event! There is ample free street parking, however, St. James Court and Magnolia Avenue fill up fast. It is easiest to park on the Sixth Street, Park Avenue, or Fourth Street sides of Central Park and then walk through the park to the starting point on St. James Court. This theatrical experience is not wheel-chair accessible. Though much of this guided walking tour covers relatively flat surfaces, tour groups will be entering several residences, which requires walking up and down steps. Wear appropriate footwear as the route cuts through grassy and potentially muddy parts of Central Park. Tours depart from the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum at 1402 St. James Court every 15 minutes starting at 6:00PM. Tours end here as well. Expect each tour to last about 2 hours. Please double-check your tickets to confirm your correct date and time slot. No need to print out tickets. Your name will be on the roster at will-call in Haskins Hall, where you will need to check in 10 minutes before your start time. Double check your start time and date! Please support the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum gift shop by purchasing t-shirts, books, and other merchandise after the tour. This year, author David Dominé will be on hand to sign books and mingle! Stop by and say hi! Also: Please consider supporting our nearest friendly neighborhood establishments such as Buck's Restaurant or the Old Louisville Tavern if you're interested in something to eat or drink before or after your tour. Or, even better, make an entire weekend out of it and book a room at one of our lovely inns such as the Dupont Mansion Bed & Breakfast, the Louisville Bourbon Inn, Central Park Bed & Breakfast, or the Samuel Culbertson Mansion. Except for items already in the public domain, all stories and scripts of the Victorian Ghost Walk® constitute the intellectual property of David Dominé solely, and as such, they are subject to federal copyright protection.
